Tesoro is a citizen scenic co-creation starring boys and girls, between 7 and 13 years old, who transform the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) into a living stage for a clue game.
Within the framework of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Gabriela Mistral's Nobel Prize in Literature, her poems and prose are the heart of a playful stage experience that invites you to discover the “treasure spaces” within GAM through a clue map. Thus, through the audio tour format, it incorporates collective readings, explorations around the book and the word, testimonies and texts from the poet recited in the voices of the participating childhoods. In addition, it has choreographic actions and visual interventions, where children share their own dialogue with Mistral and GAM, in a performance that unites reading, movement and scenic creation.
Tesoro is part of Citizen Scene by the artist and cultural manager Paula Aros Gho, which she has promoted since 2019. It has the support of the Publics and Territories Unit of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, within the framework of its program of citizen artistic co-creations and the curatorship Residencias Situadas of GAM. Its premiere is scheduled for November, during Audiences Month.
Methodology
The Ciudadana Scene methodology carries out scenic co-creation processes, based on cartography and daily routes of its participants. Through workshops, documentation exercises and compilation of materials in audiovisual, sound and textual format are carried out, to raise stories, visions, perspectives and testimonies about the territory that the communities inhabit.
In addition to this, a historiographic investigation of the site and the community with which we work is carried out, a fundamental component to design the artistic work, since the methodology seeks to highlight material and intangible heritage, generating a historical and contemporary link between the inhabitants and their territory.
Citizen Scene has been applied in various communities and age ranges, culminating in plays, audio tours in public spaces, and urban interventions. It has been designed to be replicable in all types of contexts and territories.
This adaptability allows it to accommodate any type of need or objective raised by institutions that want to value their spaces based on the people who give them life, creating a quality artistic product that reinforces the bond and sense of belonging and identity of people with the territories they inhabit and travel through daily.

How does it work?
- Access the Treasure audio. Scan the QR code that you will find at the starting point (GAM Central Plaza).
- Put on your headphones and start the tour. Childhoods will guide you! Use the map that you will receive at the beginning and follow the sound clues, which will take you through different “treasure spaces” of GAM.
- Listen, observe and participate. Along the way, you will discover scenic and visual interventions created together with girls and boys. Let yourself be guided by their voices, stories and games.

Work team
Performing artist from Chile trained as an actress at the University of Chile and MA in Devised Theater in England. He has been dedicated to stage direction and university teaching for 20 years. His main artistic interest is focused on the evidence of co-presence between audiences, artists, spaces and specific contexts. His stage research focuses on generating relationship and mediation actions with the audience, on the activation of the spaces where his works are presented, on the inclusion of citizens within the creative process, and on the development of dramaturgies that include the biographies and specific contexts of the casts, whether they are professionals or citizens. Paula currently directs the Theater School of the Universidad Mayor and is focused on generating artistic instances that link audiences and territories with the performing arts, with the aim of expanding audiences in the national and international theatrical context.
Director and actress graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 2012, with a diploma in Applied Theater in Education, Health and Community (2017), an instance that was guided by expert teachers in these subjects such as Verónica García-Huidobro, Luna del Canto, Ana Sedano, Yani Nuñez, Iria Retuerto, Víctor Romero, among others. She has 10 years of experience working in art and mediation with young people and children, working as a facilitator of both private and municipal workshops in the communities of Lo Espejo, Peñalolén, Cerro Navia, Las Condes, Peñalolén and Puente Alto. Since 2017, she has added to her experience working with older adults, adults and people with disabilities. He has worked as a teacher and teaching assistant at ARCOS, Pontificia Universidad Católica and Finis Terrae. As part of his artistic training, in 2013 he took part in the practical seminars at the Teatro La Memoria and in 2015 he participated in the Nómade School at the Theater du Soleil. In 2019 she was selected by the Chilean German Institute of Culture (Goethe Institut) to do internships in Berlin, Germany, representing Chile in an international forum of young performing artists within the framework of TEATERTREFFEN 2019.
Graduated in Arts with a mention in Theater Design, graduated from the University of Chile in 2014, she has developed her work as a stage creator in the three areas of design: set design, lighting and costumes in theater, dance and opera productions. She worked at the Municipal Theater of Santiago (2018-2020) in the area of costume production for opera and ballet. She worked as a teacher at the Universidad Mayor in the Staging Workshop field (2022-2023). She has also dedicated herself to teaching, conducting workshops for girls and boys in school age (7-10 years): Art Workshop for Creation at the San Miguel Parish School (2018-2019). She currently works as a designer and teacher for the Gerocultura Foundation in workshops for the elderly, which lead to the production of plays for children: Between pineapples and lentils (2022), Four stories and flying (2023), Los ojos de Geras (2024).
Journalist, Graduate in Social Sciences from the Faculty of Communications and Letters of the Diego Portales University and Minor in Humanities from the same university. Currently, he is the head of communications for the Red Salas de Teatro – Santiago and General Director and Co-Founder of the Agency and multimedia production company for the arts “Rizomas”, a collaborating organization for the cultural artistic sector in pursuit of continuity, links with communities, especially belonging to the indigenous peoples of the Tarapacá Region, in various collaborative actions with Fintdaz and Agrupación Cultural Antifaz. He studied acting at the Fernando González Theater Academy and in 2019, he graduated from the Diploma in Creative Industries - Management and Development of Creative Companies and Communications from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and in 2024, he received the diploma as Cultural Manager from the same university.
