The Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM), in alliance with CECREA Creation Centers of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, opens the national call to participate in the Artistic Mediation Residency 2025, an experience that articulates art, education, participation and territory.

This initiative invites artists and cultural mediators of the arts from all over the country to co-create an artistic mediation device with girls, boys and young people from school communities. The objective is to activate collaborative creation processes that put aesthetic experience, critical thinking and community encounter at the center.

What are we looking for?

Projects that integrate sensitive, participatory and experimental approaches, capable of adapting to diverse educational contexts. Proposals that understand artistic mediation not as an auxiliary or subsequent action to the work, but as a living space of shared creation, where knowledge, languages and emotions intersect.

The residency is structured in two complementary phases:

Territorial residence (2 weeks): development of a mediation device in a Cecrea Center in the country, in direct collaboration with girls, boys and young people in the territory.
Implementation in GAM: implementation of the device at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, with the support of the mediation team.

This territorial and institutional crossing seeks to promote an active circulation of experiences, promoting an expanded mediation that dialogues with the social and cultural reality of the communities.

What do we understand by “artistic mediation device”?

A mediation device is a creative, adaptable and situated tool that allows art to be linked with people from an active experience. It is not just a methodology or a didactic resource: it is a proposal that triggers questions, activates senses, stimulates the imagination and favors encounters.

They can take multiple forms: performative actions, games, participatory installations, sensory guides, graphic dynamics or hybrid methodologies. The fundamental thing is that they are co-created with the communities, and that they generate significant processes of dialogue, reflection and collective creation.

Who is it addressed to?

Have experience in collaborative creation processes or community work.
They are interested in the relationship between art, pedagogy, mediation and territory.
Be available to do residency at a Cecrea Center for two weeks.
Be able to dialogue creatively with girls, boys and young people of school age.

Proposals that incorporate intergenerational perspectives, innovative methodologies, territorial awareness and inclusive approaches will be especially valued.
