The European Film Festival has already become a long-awaited tradition in Chile that every year brings distinguished European films that are screened throughout the country for free. Feature films, documentaries and short films, complemented by workshops, master classes and talks will be held on May 30 and June 16.
Among this year's international guests will be José Luis Pecharromán, director of photography who has worked on series such as “Mar de Plastico” and “La Otra Mirada”. Another guest is Michael Steiner, Swiss director, writer and screenwriter, who will come to present his latest film “Wolkenbruch”. From Poland will come Jagoda Szelc, the young director of the film “Tower: A Bright Day”, which was recently presented at Berlinale and Cannes.
The inauguration - open to the public - will take place on May 30 in the central square of GAM where different European short films will be presented.

In addition, this year new headquarters have been added, such as the Municipality of Vitacura, with its Vitavecino program; The Municipality of Cerro Navia, next to the Violeta Parra Cultural Center; the Commune of La Florida; the city of Chillán with the Claudio Arrau Artistic Cultural School and the Castro Cultural Center on the large island of Chiloé. Added to these are headquarters in the cities of Arica, Antofagasta, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Santiago, Talca, Concepción, Valdivia, Osorno, Temuco, Puerto Montt, Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas.
In total 22 establishments in different places in Chile will be presenting good quality films for free.
The Festival is carried out thanks to the efforts of the Delegation of the European Union in Chile and the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, together with the embassies of the participating countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland and Chile as the guest country.
