The meeting, organized jointly by the Regional Associative Projects (PAR) of the CONICYT Explora Program of the Metropolitan Region, and the Gabriela Mistral Center, GAM, already has 10 schools selected to present their plays inspired by science. All the schools (except one) are participating in this instance for the first time, representing communes that had not participated before, including three rural communes.

School theater and science festival
The Regional Associative Projects (PAR) of the CONICYT Explora Program of the Metropolitan Region and the Gabriela Mistral Center (GAM), call on all educational establishments to participate in the School Festival of Theater and Science (FETYC), a free initiative aimed at young people, which seeks to enhance the learning of science through languages typical of the performing arts.
In the fifth version of this contest, participants must discover and deploy all their creativity to create theatrical productions inspired by “The Year of Why?”, a theme that concentrates the activities of the CONICYT Explora Program in 2018.
Selected teachers and students will be advised by experts through a complete training program, where they will hone their skills and knowledge through workshops on directing, theatrical design and assembly, and scientific content, among other areas. A challenging process, essential to maximize the works that will be presented between November 21 and 23 at the Gabriela Mistral Center.
