Workshop for teachers organized by Fundación Mar Adentro to train educators to learn about how to confront climate change.
It is essential that the entire society becomes aware of the challenges posed by the climate crisis that we are currently experiencing and for that, citizen education is very relevant. In this sense, we need a proactive look, to create new ways of relating to each other and to nature. This is why Fundación Mar Adentro, in collaboration with Fundación An Nou Palé, Aula de Mar, Cooperativa Semilla Austral and Fab Lab Santiago, with the support of GAM, created a free training space for educators (teachers, facilitators, moderators, and work related to education) to learn about various topics related to climate change, such as: migration, the value of the coastline, deforestation and creativity, through workshops that link these topics with methodologies. artistic.
The workshops will be structured as a single program of four consecutive sessions on the following topics:
1. Human migrations an opportunity for development
Organized by An Nou Palé Foundation

Human migrations an opportunity for development is the first workshop of the Environmental City program, which invites a playful space for reflection and dialogue around the migratory phenomenon in Chile and Latin America from the perspective of forced mobilization associated with climate change.
Through body dynamics and maps we will reflect together on myths and prejudices, and then capture our views in a large collective collage.
2. Discovering the coastal edge
Organized by Aula de Mar
Facilitated by: Javiera Espinoza and Carolina Yañez
Discovering the coastal edge is installed second within the Environmental City program. To become aware of the ecosystem of the territory we inhabit, following the path of water from the mountains to the sea.
Through sound journeys, collective mapping and exploration with touch, the value of the coastal edge will be recognized, its importance as a place of connection with the sea and the impact it has had due to climate change.
3. Medicinal native flora: care to protect

With the third workshop of the Environmental City program, the valuable biodiversity of native flora of the sclerophyllous forest of the Central Zone of Chile will be made known. Learning concrete tools to care for the forest, making us aware of the importance of reforestation and knowledge of ancestral knowledge related to health and good living.
To do this, you will connect with the forest through the senses, recognizing native species and their properties through conversation circles and the creation of a herbarium with the rubbing technique.
4. Food and colors for biodiversity
Cooperative Semilla Austral
Facilitated by: Renata Aedo
This workshop invites us to delve deeper into the link between humans and nature through agriculture and food, to reflect together on how certain practices and habits can contribute to biodiversity in our natural and social ecosystems.
During the workshop we will use chromatography, an analysis technique through which we can recognize the colors and nutrients of certain foods.
