As a Board of Directors and executive team we regret the decision, understanding that it is a relevant project for the cultural sector and citizens, to which we dedicate a lot of effort and work, and that it would have a positive impact on the economy, employment, tourism and investment. The project aimed to expand access to culture, strengthen artistic creation, consolidate a public meeting space for citizens and contribute to the regeneration of the center of Santiago and the city.
We want to emphasize that GAM will continue to fulfill its mission with the same commitment and responsibility that has characterized its team, strengthening its contribution to citizens from its current work. Today we are a solid and stable institution that has managed to carry out with impact its public vocation of generating greater access and cultural participation for almost 16 years. At this time GAM enjoys good financial health, with historic numbers of visits to the building and a sustained increase in room occupancy.
As a Corporation we have worked with commitment to carry out this project and we will look for new formulas and articulations that allow us to make the Great Hall a reality.
