GAM once again has international programming with dance and theater works from Australia and Scotland. In the field of inclusion, an international work and another Chilean one will be part of the billboard that will be enriched by a new version of the Inclusion Meeting.
Among the exhibitions, one stands out dedicated to Philippe Starck, a legend of current design, which brings more than 150 of his creations. There will also be premieres of contemporary and urban dance, family programming and a series dedicated to Juan Radrigán.
Hundreds of people attend the launch
The Wolfpack dance group opened the launch of the 2017 program with street dance. The group, led by Aron Lobos, is one of the many communities that occupy the open spaces of the building throughout the year. In addition to classic K-pop, there are exponents of other urban and Latin dances, such as salsa, lindy hop, dance hall, hip hop, and also musicians and cartoonists. They are the best proof that people not only live inside the rooms, but also in the public spaces and are part of the 1,097,815 visits that the building received from January to October of this year. It is their experiences that are behind the comical video starring Nona Fernández dressed as a nun, presented at the launch, and that give the slogan for 2017: Holy we all are.
There will be 41 national performing arts productions that will be presented next year. International works from Scotland and Australia, exhibitions, festivals, cycles and special programming are also added to promote inclusion in the arts. The axes that will cross the programming in 2017 will be the centenary of the birth of Violeta Parra, Memory and Utopias and a line dedicated to our roots.
