One of the relevant indicators corresponds to the average occupancy of rooms (that is, the percentage of public present at functions with respect to the capacity of the spaces). During the last 12 months this indicator reaches 65.7%, which means an increase of more than 7 percentage points compared to the results achieved during the first year of GAM's operation.
Also noteworthy is the flow of audiences in August 2014, which became the month with the most visits since the cultural center was launched, adding 158,119 visits (driven in part by the Parra 100 exhibition, which two weeks after opening is positioned as the most viewed exhibition in the history of the building).
In parallel, GAM has focused its work on the development and training of audiences that seeks to facilitate public access to cultural offerings and strengthen people's involvement with artistic creations.
Along these lines, 1,919 activities have been carried out in four years and 85,108 beneficiaries have participated, increasing over time. Among the latter, schoolchildren in a condition of social vulnerability, teachers, older adults, blind and low vision people, among others, stand out. The programs that make up the Audience training area have also been recognized by the 2014 AVONNI awards, whose jury has selected them among the 3 finalists in Culture.
The permanent work with the public has also been expressed in diversification. According to the latest Audience Characterization Survey (developed by the Studies Unit), sectors C3 and D have strengthened their presence in the group of those who come to GAM as well as visitors and spectators from the communes of the southern zone of the Metropolitan Region (Puente Alto, La Florida, San Bernardo), while at the age level the high percentage of young people remains (63% are under 30 years old).
