According to the agreement for the transfer of resources and execution of activities signed between the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center - a collaborating institution of the State - and the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, GAM announced the main milestones and achievements associated with the execution of said agreement, during the year 2025.
The event was attended by the Minister of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, Francisco Undurraga; the president of the GAM Board of Directors, Jorge Andrés González; members of the Board of Directors, representatives of collaborating cultural institutions of the State, representatives of organizations that make up the Alameda Cultural Network, residents of the Lastarria, San Borja and Parque Forestal neighborhoods, and GAM workers.
Among the notable milestones, director Alejandra Martí highlighted the reduction of more than 50% of the financial deficit, the implementation of improvements in internal management processes, the progress in Ceal-SUSESO measurement, the increase in income from tickets, rental of spaces and tenants, and the achievement of having received 1,691,153 visits to the building, surpassing the historical record registered since our inauguration as the GAM Center in 2014.
Added to the good news is having reached a room occupancy of 68.5%, 14 percentage points higher than in 2024. In addition, attendance at all activities increased by 10% compared to the previous period.
"Last year, our cultural center celebrated 15 years of existence, proving to be the result of one of the most successful cultural public policies in the State of Chile. We closed 2025 with historic numbers of visits to our building and with an increase in room occupancy, which reflects people's interest in our programmatic offering. This is good news that allows us to continue advancing in our challenge of positioning GAM as the house of creativity in Chile and Latin America. A strategic, convening space that brings together talents from different sectors, both in the stage and music, as well as in the field of thought and reflection for the future," commented Alejandra Martí Olbrich, executive director of the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center.
