The GAM Board of Directors met today to evaluate how to continue managing the cultural center since Alejandra Wood resigned from the Executive Directorship on September 30. After a meeting of less than 3 hours, the Board of Directors declared:
- Unanimously regrets the resignation of Alejandra Wood from her position as Executive Director and recognizes the work that she and her team have done. A cultural center was built from scratch that today is an unprecedented precedent in Latin America.
- Supports and recognizes the work of the GAM management team headed by Javier Ibacache, José Miguel Herencia and Ximena Villanueva in the Programming and Audiences departments; Administration and Finance and Communications and Marketing, respectively. To ensure stability in the objectives they have for their areas, Cristián Uribe has been appointed as Deputy Director of GAM for this transition period, who will coordinate the policies and strategies already established by each direction. Cristián Uribe has worked since the creation of GAM until today as legal advisor and Secretary of the Board of Directors.
- An open call will be called to elect the next executive director. An external company will be sought that will advise the search committee that will be made up of members of the Board of Directors.
- The first objectives of this committee will be to define a schedule, a new position profile and establish the bases of the call. It is expected that this process will not last more than 4 months.
- The Board of Directors thanks and recognizes the work of the entire current GAM team and those who participated in any of the stages of this renowned project that turned 5 years old.
