This morning, the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, GAM, and the Center for the Technological Revolution in Creative Industries, CRTIC, made official a collaborative alliance that seeks to strengthen Chile's techno-creative and cultural sector, integrating the opportunities offered by technology in the development of arts and culture.
The activity was led by Alejandra Martí Olbrich, executive director of GAM, and Esteban Ruiz-Tagle, director(s) of CRTIC, who led a conversation space with managers, artists and representatives of the techno-creative ecosystem. In this instance, they reflected on how the intersections between art, creativity, science and technology can accelerate the sustainable development of the country.
“Today, the Gabriela Mistral Center, GAM, takes an important step by signing this agreement with CRTIC, which implies the formalization of a collaboration and the foundation of a bold future for culture in our region. With this alliance, we join together to strengthen the technocultural ecosystem of Chile and Latin America that, through a deep humanistic and artistic interaction with technology, will deepen the understanding of our past, illuminate the present of creation and build a more prosperous and accessible future for everyone,” said Alejandra Martí Olbrich, executive director of GAM.
“This alliance with GAM is very valuable for the CRTIC and for the Chilean techno-creative ecosystem. It allows us to make visible the work that we are promoting in the country and that, many times, due to lack of spaces, fails to connect with new audiences. It is urgent that digital natives can connect with culture in the languages and formats that are their own, that they recognize and enjoy. That this showcase is the GAM, the cultural heart of Santiago, is a fundamental step to advance in that direction”, highlighted Esteban Ruiz-Tagle, director(s) of CRTIC.
This collaboration is articulated around five strategic objectives that seek to strengthen the national techno-creative ecosystem. Firstly, the circulation and exhibition in GAM of works and projects developed by artists linked to CRTIC will be facilitated, opening new spaces of visibility for creations that integrate art, science and technology. Added to this is the co-creation of techno-creative residency programs, aimed at promoting research and experimentation.
Likewise, a collaboration is established for the design and production of immersive content that will be able to inhabit both the current and future spaces of the cultural center, generating new experiences for the public.

The agreement also contemplates the holding of meetings, calls and training programs that promote the development of advanced human capital. Finally, we will work together to catapult techno-creative projects internationally, taking advantage of the networks of both institutions.
With this alliance, GAM and CRTIC reaffirm their commitment to a culture in constant transformation, which recognizes technology as an ally to expand the possibilities of creation, attracting new audiences and greater development of the country.
