This morning, with the presence of Carolina Arredondo, Minister of Cultures, Arts and Heritage; Mario Marcel, Minister of Finance; Javiera Toro, Minister of Social Development and Family; Daniel Hojman Trujillo, president of BancoEstado; undersecretaries and authorities, we gave the go to the #CulturalPass, a benefit that allows access to cultural goods and services.
Alejandra Martí, executive director of GAM, welcomed the speeches, expressing her satisfaction with this initiative. "At the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, art is not only presented: citizenship is received, articulated and projected here. Policies such as the Cultural Pass take shape and translate into real access. Part of our strategic focus is precisely to open our doors to new audiences, especially young people and older people. The Cultural Pass contributes directly to that purpose," he said.
The Minister of Cultures, for her part, stated that "the creation and implementation of the Cultural Pass responds to the commitment and notion that we have of cultural policy. Today the Government of President Gabriel Boric is advancing decisively through concrete measures, to be able to better contribute to people exercising their rights."
This benefit consists of a monetary contribution of $50,000 (fifty thousand pesos) that will be granted only once and can be used to purchase or supplement payments for cultural goods and services. These resources will be transferred to an Electronic Pocket called Cultural Pass associated with the RUT Account. The beneficiaries of the Cultural Pass will be those who meet the following requirements:
- Chilean or foreign people with permanent residence in Chile, who turn 18 during 2025, and who belong to the most vulnerable 40% of the population, according to the socioeconomic qualification of the Social Registry of Households (RSH).
- People who turn 65 during the year 2025 and are beneficiaries of the Universal Guaranteed Pension. (PGU) created by Law No. 21,419, during the same year.
To access the benefit, people must request the “activation of the Cultural Pass” until December 31, 2025.
In the case of people who turn 18 during 2025 and meet the requirements, the activation of the Cultural Pass will be carried out through the website https://chilecultura.gob.cl/, through which they will be able to access the benefit activation form.
People who turn 65 in 2025 may authorize the activation of their Cultural Pass when requesting the Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU), a procedure that is carried out at any IPS-ChileAtiende branch, at www.chileatiende.cl, AFP or the affiliate's insurance company. If the PGU has already been granted, they can activate the Cultural Pass through a form enabled on the MinCAP website https://chilecultura.gob.cl/ or directly at ChileAtiende, either through its website or in person at its branches.
With an investment of $15,630 million, the Cultural Pass will contribute to energizing the country's cultural ecosystem and as a powerful tool for dissemination, audience formation, and strengthening ties between citizens and various cultural agents.
