We believe and are committed to respecting the dignity of each person since respectful and professional conduct enhances our mission and values, minimizing conflicts.
In this framework, and in the face of a complaint of this nature that may be the subject of a person who is part of an artistic project that has some relationship with the Corporation, regardless of their condition and quality that they may have in said project, the Corporation will reserve the right to request a change of member, or to suspend the project until the person involved clarifies their situation, or ultimately not to persevere in it.
We note that all collaborators, strategic partners or other people with whom we have contact during the course of our work and artistic activity must be treated fairly and respectfully regardless of their appearance, beliefs, culture, affiliations or other personal characteristics. Furthermore, all of our collaborators must always maintain conduct that does not interfere with the vision, mission and values of GAM.
How to proceed in case of harassment as a GAM visitor
A security guard from the existing staff at the time the events occurred must be contacted immediately. The person in charge of the Corporation must:
- Go to the scene of the events in order to assist the alleged victim.
- Identify possible witnesses (cameras, photographs, filming, request for identification, etc.) by requesting this from the security company, and at the same time notify the internal counterpart in charge of coordinating said company of the previously requested.
If the eventual sexual assault occurs in the context of a specific activity, the person responsible for the counterpart (director or producer in programming activities and eventual victim) will be identified to report the facts and coordinate actions. Depending on the severity of the act of sexual violence, you must call the Carabineros de Chile at 133 and detain the alleged aggressor with the guards. In addition, you must inform the victim's family, if they give their consent to do so, or if they are a minor, that there will be an obligation to do so.
If there is suspicion of rape or injuries resulting from acts of sexual violence, the victim must be immediately transferred to the Legal Medical Service or authorized medical services (attend, if possible, accompanied by a family member or responsible adult).
In order to protect the possible victim of abuse, it is requested and recommended to restrict the use of cell phones, as well as refrain from taking photos or recording videos and disseminating on social networks that are abusive and further violate the rights and dignity of the possible victim.
Official communication from the Corporation will always be through whomever the executive management determines. Finally, and without prejudice to the above, the relationship with the media will be through the GAM Communications Department.
