The decision, announced during the last board session on Friday, March 28, is due to the fact that the authority will assume the Cultural Secretariat of the Italian-Latin American Institute, IILA, as of April 7, a position that forces it to move and settle in Rome for the next two years.

The presidency of the corporation will be assumed on an interim basis by Pablo Aranda Rojas, vice president of the GAM Board of Directors and executive director of the Foundation of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Chile (FOJI), until the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage appoints a new representative.

Claudia Barattini, cultural manager with extensive experience in social, cultural and international cooperation projects, Minister of Culture of Chile from 2014 to 2015 and cultural attaché of Chile in Mexico between 2017-2018, was in charge of the presidency of the GAM Board of Directors as of March 15, 2024.
