GAM and the production company from Sydney, Australia, Intimate Spectacle, with the support of the Australian Embassy and the UC Theater, invite you to be part of the citizen cast of the play Oedipus Schmoedipus, during November 9, 10 and 11. The show is part of the Contemporary Australia Cycle organized by GAM.
For this group of volunteers we are looking for people who want to act, learn how a theater works and, above all, have fun alongside this group of renowned Australian artists who will be performing for the first time in Latin America. It doesn't matter if you have no acting experience, your nationality or physical features. You are invited alone, with your partner, family or friends.
General considerations
● You don't need to memorize anything.
● The characters are designed from the group of volunteers. You are the characters: real, different, spontaneous.
● You will be able to participate in the performance(s) that interest you most and you will not be asked to do anything you are not comfortable with.
● All participants will receive a double ticket to the performance of Oedipus Shmoedipus in which they will be participating, as well as a double invitation to the performance of the Contemporary Australia Series piece for person and ghetto blaster, for the 15th or November 16 (8:30 p.m.) or for Cockfight, for November 4 at 7:00 p.m.*
● Participants may also receive a double invitation to GAM plays for the month of November or December 2017.*
● Participants may be part of the exclusive GAM database. **

How to participate
The show will be performed by the group of volunteers of which you will be part.
The conditions to be one of them are the following:
✓ Have a basic knowledge of English*. The instructions will be translated into Spanish, but it is important that the people who participate can understand the language.
✓ Be over 13 years old.
✓ Fill out the registration form specifying the function you can attend.
✓ Attend one of the two information meetings that GAM will hold on Tuesday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m. or on Wednesday the 25th at 12:30 p.m.
✓ Sign the letter of acknowledgment of the bases found within the registration form.
✓ Attend the rehearsal and performance at the indicated time.
✓ Children under 18 years of age may attend with a responsible adult. In any case, minors and responsible adults may take part in the function.
✓ This call is voluntary, meaning that your participation will not be remunerated.
* The person transmits and understands simple phrases in English and manages to understand the general meaning of a family conversation.

The production is a great “festival” that puts into discourse the concept of death in the history of theater. Oedipus Schmoedipus takes fragments of classical theater, chooses the death scenes, mixes them, and in the end returns them to the public in an original, fun and profound way. For this gigantic staging of gore, laments, requiems and war cries, 25 volunteers (community cast) participate per performance. And this is where you come in!
The call for any performance day is at 3:00 p.m.
The performances are November 9, 10, and 11 at 8:30 p.m. in room A2 of building A of GAM.
The work has a duration of 70 minutes.
